Cuando se nos acaban las fuerzas y la motivación para orar, es bueno mirar al mayor de todos los intercesores de la historia, el Señor Jesucristo. Cristo – El Mayor Intercesor sobre la Tierra

Piensa en una alta oración sacerdotal a favor de Sus discípulos y de todos aquellos que a través de ellos creerían en Su nombre. Piensa en Sus palabras a Pedro, ‘Yo he rogado por ti para que tu fe no falle’ (Lucas 22:32): una prueba de lo intensamente personal que es Su intercesión. Y en la cruz habló como intercesor: ‘Padre perdónalos’ (Lucas 23:34). Ahora que está sentado a la derecha de Dios, Él continúa, como nuestro Gran Sumo Sacerdote, el trabajo de intercesión sin cesar.   • Él oraba en público – Jesús oró en público en medio de Sus enseñanzas. Él no temía orar en público bajo la dirección del Espíritu Santo. Él oró en público antes de resucitar a Lázaro. Ninguno de nosotros como intercesores debiéramos tener miedo de orar en público o en reuniones de oración. Ver Juan 11:41-42, 12:28b.

Cristo – El Mayor de los Intercesores en el Cielo

“Solo piensa acerca de lo que esto significa: Todo Su trabajo de salvación se sigue llevando a cabo en el Cielo, así como en la tierra, en una comunicación incesante con, y en intercesión directa con, el Padre, que es el Todo en Todo. Todo acto de gracia en Cristo ha sido precedido por, y debe su poder a la intercesión. Dios ha sido honrado y reconocido como Su Autor. En el trono de Dios, la comunión más alta de Cristo con el Padre y Su sociedad en el reino del Padre está en la intercesión. Cada bendición que nos llega a nosotros desde el Cielo lleva el sello de Dios: a través de la intercesión de Cristo. Su intercesión no es sino el fruto y la gloria de Su inmolación. Cuando Él se entregó como sacrificio a Dios a favor de los hombres, demostró que todo Su corazón tenía el único objetivo de glorificar a Dios en la salvación de los hombres. Jesucristo esta siempre intercediendo por nosotros en el Cielo. Él ha pagado el precio para que podamos venir al trono de gracia con nuestras intercesiones y ser oídos en las alturas. Las siguientes verdades acerca de la posición celestial de Cristo debieran motivarnos a interceder:

  • Él está sentado a la derecha del Padre – Él ha sido exaltado al lugar más alto, al lado de Su Padre. Debido a esto, podemos orar la voluntad del cielo para el ámbito terrenal. Cuando oramos la voluntad de Dios en el nombre de Jesús, las oraciones son oídas en el cielo donde Jesús está sentado. Ver Filipenses 2:9, Hechos 7:55, Hebreos 1:13.
  • Él tiene toda la autoridad – Al nombre de Jesús toda rodilla se doblará en los cielos, en la tierra, y bajo la tierra. Él ha sido coronado con gloria y honor, y todo ha sido puesto bajo Sus pies. ¡Él puede ganar toda batalla que traigamos ante Él en oración porque Él tiene toda la autoridad!   • Él ora a nuestro favor – Él le habla al Padre en nuestra defensa como el Justo. Él es santo, sin mancha, puro y apartado. Por lo tanto, Él puede orar en nuestra defensa cuando pecamos. Ver I Juan 2:1.
