“Regocijaos en el Señor siempre. Voy a decirlo una vez más: ¡Regocijaos! Vuestra gentileza sea conocida de todos. El Señor está cerca. Por nada estéis afanosos ; más bien sean conocidas vuestras peticiones delante de Dios en toda ocasión, con oración y ruego, con acción de gracias”(Filipenses 4:4-6).

¿Es realmente posible estar gozosos en el Señor siempre?

Pablo dice dos veces en Filipenses 4:4 que deberíamos hacer esto. Él sabe que es algo que tenemos que mandar y animar a otros a practicar. Todos nosotrostenemos batallas y no es divertido. Pero Pablo pone el estándar en alto: Mientras estaba en prisión, se gozó! Y luego nos dice que debemos orar por todo con acción de gracias al presentar nuestras peticiones a Dios.

La Oración es una llave para tener la la habilidad de siempre gozosos. Ciertamente, no es fácil regocijarse en ciertas circunstancias de la vida, pero tenemos una opción de cómo vamos a ver esas circunstancias. Dios tiene una respuesta para todo, incluso cuando no lo vemos a través de nuestros ojos humanos. Él conoce el final desde el principio, y es nuestra elección si queremos conectarnos con él o no. El mundo es negativo y trata de meterle en su molde, pero Dios tiene una manera de que podamos caminar por nuestras circunstancias victoriosamente.

El gozo es un fruto del Espíritu. No es algo que podemos crear nosotros—mismos viene de Dios. Es sobrenatural y persiste de una manera profunda y duradera, incluso cuando estamos en medio de las dificultades. El gozo no es la ausencia de dolor o de circunstancias difíciles. ¿Qué podría ser más duro que una prisión romana? Pero regocijarse siempre implica aprender a dejar que el Espíritu de Dios te llene de su gozo inextinguible, independientemente de sus circunstancias. Si estás gozoso, tu vida se convierte en un testimonio de la luz de Cristo a un mundo que busca desesperadamente la esperanza.

Gozo en el Lugar Secreto de Oración

Yo no te puedo decir el número de veces que me he encaminado una reunión de oración cargada de las preocupaciones de la vida cotidiana, sólo para descubrir un gozo que no se apaga en la presencia de Dios. Muchas veces cuando oro con los demás o en silencio al esperar en Dios, experimento una alegría que ninguna circunstancia puede destruir.

En 2005, fui diagnosticada con cáncer de mama. Este diagnóstico totalmente inesperado inicialmente me sumió en una profunda oscuridad y el desaliento. Todo mi futuro estaba amenazado. Pero en el lugar de la oración en la presencia de Dios, encontré esperanza incluso al pasar por el cáncer. No tengo palabras para describir el poder y la alegría sustentadora de Dios en medio de una enfermedad potencialmente mortal. Su alegría es real y mucho más profundo que cualquier experiencia de la vida trascendental. Doy gracias a Dios por mi experiencia con el cáncer, ya que a través de ello, Dios era capaz de desarrollar un carácter más similar al de Cristo en mí. Ahora tengo una nueva apreciación por la vida.

Elegir orar no siempre es fácil, pero es el verdadero camino de la vida. Salmo 16:11 dice, “Me has dado a conocer la senda de la vida; en tu presencia hay plenitud de gozo, delicias a tu diestra para siempre.”

Hay gozo en el lugar secreto de oración. Hay gozo si decidimos centrar nuestra vida en Dios y conocerle. Hay alegría y gran avance, incluso en la más oscura de las circunstancias cuando decidimos hacer de Jesús nuestra mayor ambición, nuestro deseo más profundo, y nuestro mayor objetivo. Entonces Él trae un rompimiento a nuestras vidas con una paz trascendental y el entendimiento sobrenatural. Henry y Richard Blackaby nos recuerda:

“Jesús no oró para que usted fuera más que feliz o incluso que usted escapara de la pena. Él oró para que usted tendría la mismo que el Padre le había dado: una alegría divina, un gozo que viene de una relación profunda e inquebrantable con el Padre. En el libro de Filipenses, Pablo reconoce estas estrategias del enemigo y da consejos prácticos sobre cómo podemos responder a ellas.   • La justicia propia – “Ser hallado en él, no teniendo mi propia justicia, que es por la ley, sino la que es por la fe en Cristo—la justicia que procede de Dios, basada en la fe” (3:9).
  • Los desacuerdos y las malas relaciones – “Les ruego a Evodia y a Síntique, les ruego ponerse de acuerdo entre sí en el Señor” (4:2).
  • Las circunstancias difíciles – “No estoy diciendo esto porque esté necesitado, pues he aprendido a estar satisfecho en cualquier situación” (4:11).
  • Pensamiento incorrecto – “Todo lo que es verdadero, todo lo honesto, todo lo justo, todo lo puro, todo lo amable, todo lo digno de admiración, si algo digno de alabanza, en esto pensad” (4:8).
  • La falta de confianza – “Todo lo puedo en Cristo que me fortalece” (4:13).
  • Quejándose – “Haced todo sin murmuraciones y contiendas, para que seáis irreprensibles y sencillos, hijos de Dios sin mancha en medio de una generación maligna y perversa, en la que brillan como estrellas en el universo” (2:14-15).
  • La ambición egoísta – “No hagan nada por egoísmo o vanidad; más bien, con humildad consideren a los demás como superiores a él mismo” (2:3).
  • Las malas actitudes – “La actitud de ustedes debe ser la misma que la de Cristo Jesús, quien, exisitiendo en la misma naturaleza Dios, no consideró el ser igual a Dios como cosa a que aferrarse, sino que se rebajó voluntariamente, tomando la naturaleza de siervo y haciéndose semejante a los hombres “(2:5-7).
  • Orgullo – “Y estando en la condición de hombre, se humilló a sí mismo, haciéndose obediente hasta la muerte, y muerte de cruz” (2:8).

    Una Oración por una Vida Gozosa

    Señor, dame gozo en el lugar secreto. Yo oro para una vida gozosa. Líbrame de todas esas cosas que roban mi y gozo y una vida de oración efectiva. Dame una nueva visión, la confianza y la fe en mis oraciones. Ayúdame a caminar en la pureza y la humildad. Tú eres mi justicia y paz. Enséñameel gozo en las circunstancias difíciles que enfrento. Anhelo tu actitud de entrega desinteresada y decido no quejarme de nada. Ayúdame a pensar sólo en lo que es verdadero, noble, justo, puro, amable, admirable, excelente y digno de alabanza. Yo deseo caminar en Tu gozo y regocijarse en él Siempre, en tiempos buenos y difíciles. Ayúdame a permanecer con gozo en el lugar secreto contigo. En el nombre de Jesús, Amén.
