A Prayer for a Greater Vision of God

“Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth. Sing to the LORD, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise” (Psalm 96:1-4a).

We are in a time of incredible change all over the earth. God is up to something big, and in the midst of it all we need a greater vision of Who He is. He wants to bring us into a new perspective—out of confusion, fear, loneliness, hopelessness and all the negatives that may threaten us during seasons of change.

A few years ago my husband and I were staying for a few days in a beautiful home hidden out in the country on a water inlet in eastern Virginia. One breathtaking evening we took a telescope and walked out on the dock overlooking the water. He then carefully positioned the telescope so that it squarely faced the moon. I looked through it and was absolutely fascinated when I saw the moon with my own eyes. I could see the craters on the face of the moon so clearly. We were both quite impressed, and I thought to myself:

“God is so big! He is so much greater than any of us give Him credit for. Here I am looking with amazement at the craters on the moon, but just think about the entire universe and how He is so much greater yet. He is mighty and beyond all comprehension.”  

God wants to give us a greater vision of Himself in the midst of the changes we are facing personally. He wants to breath His life into us. We need the breath of God to blow on our lives because people all around us are looking for life. There is so much sickness and death in this world. God wants to transform us as He brings revelation to our heart and as we pray, think, and talk about His greatness.

The Bible is our manual to help us to get through difficulty times. In fact, the book of Revelation is our prayer manual for the end-times. God wants to change us through praying, reading, and speaking His Word. He wants to bring us to a new place in order that we might bring others higher. God wants to breathe in our life so that we can breathe His life into others until it overflows. John 10:10 in the Amplified Bible says:

“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).” 

We must adjust to something higher and bigger than we ever dreamed possible. God is preparing us right now for a worldwide harvest. He is training us through struggle. He is in the process of positioning us for an end-times revival. It is time for the Church to come to life and get a greater vision of God. He has a dream for each one of personally and for His church corporately. He wants to breathe life into impossible dreams. He is the God of the supernatural and the impossible.

Heaven is struck with the majesty of God. There is glory available for the Church. So few have grabbed hold of the fullness available to us. The problem is that we get so caught up in our problems down here on earth that we miss out on what heaven is all about. The thief has destroyed and stolen what is ours. Many of us have lost the power to be astonished. We can be so astonished by the moon, but what about heaven?

It is time for intercessors to arise. We must understand the supremacy, sovereignty, and glory of God. We must have a greater vision of God in this hour. We must live the dream that is Gods and let it come to life. Warfare is not about taking on the enemy but releasing the majesty of God wherever we go. It is time to release the good news on earth through the avenues God has given each one of us personally. We’re made for heaven and for living heaven here on earth. We need to sing, dance, and proclaim the glory of God.

A Prayer for a Greater Vision of God

“Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the LORD is the great God, the great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker” (Psalm 95:1-6).

The following is a prayer for a greater vision of God in your own life. Pray it often and ask God to make you one who helps others to see His greatness.

Lord, I praise you for inviting me into your eternal purpose. I thank you that you are working out everything in conformity with the purpose of your will (Ephesians 1:11). You are the master strategist. Give me a greater vision of your purpose for my life. Awaken my heart and establish your reign in my life. Out of Your glorious riches strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being and give me a spirit of wisdom and revelation that I may know you better (Ephesians 3:16-17). Make me fully alive to your destiny in my life.

I pray that you will give me a greater vision of who you are. I acknowledge my dependence on you and thank You that impossibilities in my life give you freedom to work. Your mighty power is shown through my weakness. Your are positioning me for your end-time harvest. You breathe your life into my impossibilities. [Name a difficulty in your life.] Help me to walk in a new level of trust in You. You have plans to prosper me and to give me hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). You promise me an abundant life (John 10:10). Help me to understand Your supremacy, Your sovereignty, and Your glory. Help me to align with You and make Your presence the central theme of my life. “The Lord reigns, he is robed in majesty—Mightier than the thunder of the great waters, mightier than the breakers of the sea—the LORD on high is mighty” (Psalm 93:1-4). In Jesus name, amen.

The Strength and Power of Prayer

“The potency of prayer has subdued the strength of fire; it has bridled the rage of lions, hushed anarchy to rest, extinguished wars, appeased the elements, expelled demons, burst the chains of death, expanded the gates of heaven, assuaged diseases, repelled frauds, rescued cities from destruction, stayed the sun in its course, and arrested the progress of the thunderbolt. Prayer is an all-efficient panoply, a treasure undiminished, a mine that is never exhausted, a sky unobscured by clouds, a heaven unruffled by the storm. It is the root, the fountain, the mother of a thousand blessings.” St. Chrysostom

Do we realize the power we have available to us when we take our authority in prayer? Most of us don’t realize our authority because if we did, we would be praying far more. We would be sacrificing everything else in order to pray. Instead of worrying about the increase in evil in our land, we would be on our faces before God crying out for His intervention. Unfortunately in many churches prayer is the weakest link. It should be the strongest one because it is the key to God’s blessing in the spirit realm. We must encourage the body of Christ to pray. Until we pray, there is nothing more we can do. God is waiting for us to pray.

We work together with God when we exercise our authority in prayer. Authoritative intercession is key to breakthrough in prayer. By exercising our authority in prayer and standing strong in God’s truth, we are working together with God to determine the future. We have authority in prayer to actually see our personal lives and the lives of others change. We can pray authoritative prayers for our neighborhoods, cities, and nations. Certain things in history will happen through our intercession if we pray the way God wants us to pray. We can change nations through prayer if we choose to use this mighty weapon.

“God’s purpose may be thwarted or it may be accomplished depending, to one degree or another, on the obedience of His people and their willingness to use the weapons of spiritual warfare that He has provided. God is powerful enough to win any battle, but He has designed things so that the release of His power at a given moment of time often is contingent upon the decisions and the actions of His people. A principle weapon of spiritual warfare is prayer. Not just routine or mediocre prayer, but prayer powerful enough to move God’s hand in order to determine the destiny of a whole nation.”

Prayer is like being at a tasty buffet banquet. Imagine being at a dinner buffet where there are many tables loaded with different foods. The foods are the best. They are mouth-watering and absolutely delicious. Guests help themselves to the different kinds of food, as they desire. The host walks around among his friends to see if everyone has enough to eat, while the servers keep loading the table with fresh food. You can take as many trips as you like to the tables as long as you have enough to eat. The host doesn’t care as long as you are full. In a similar way, God has provided everything for us if we pray. We can have all we need.

Most of us have not realized the power there is in prayer. We are not asking. All we have to do is reach out by faith and ask Him to touch our lives, our cities, and our nations. When we tap into his resources by faith and pray, miracles happen. When we exercise our authority in prayer, God answers in a powerful way.

There is a strength and power in prayer that the Church has not yet known or realized.

My husband is a very practical man. He can fix almost anything. In our garage he has all kinds of tools. Once he decided to remodel our bathroom and tile the floor. To do an excellent job, he needed a good tile cutter. Whenever he fixes something in our home, he needs the right tools. Lately he has been working on our car. He needed a jack to lift the car up in order to work underneath. He couldn’t fix a problem underneath the car without that tool. It would be impossible.

The body of Christ also has a task. We want to change the world for Christ. It’s a huge task for all of us, but we do it one life at a time. Some are reaching people in their workplace or in another country. Some are reaching people in the hospitals or in the schools. We are all in this together. We want to see people’s lives changed all over the world before Jesus’ soon return to earth but the task is huge, and we need the right tools to do it. The most essential tool is prayer. Only through prayer can we get the job done. There is strength and power in prayer that can change the world.

When we pray with authority, things happen in the spirit realm. God remembers every prayer we pray, and every one of them prayed through the power of the Holy Spirit has effect on earth. Not one prayer is forgotten. When I was in a particular city in the country of Turkey, I remembered a prayer I had prayed in that very same city several years before. It was as if at that moment God showed me that He had remembered my prayers from several years before, and that it was extremely important and would have a powerful effect in that city one day. My prayer influenced God. When we realize the authority we have in prayer, mighty things will happen all over the earth that brings victory to the powerful name of Jesus. Well-known prayer author and intercessor, E. M. Bounds, writes about the power of prayer:

“Prayer is power and strength, a power and strength that influences God, and is most salutary, widespread, and marvelous in its gracious benefits to man. Prayer influences God. The ability of God to do for man is the measure of the possibility of prayer.”

The prayers you pray influence God. God remembers every single one of them. You may be thinking, “You don’t know me – My prayers seem so feeble and weak – God doesn’t seem to answer me.” Do not ever think that God hasn’t heard you or that your prayers do not matter. The enemy is trying very hard to discourage people in prayer in these days because he is afraid of prayer. He knows it’s strength and power, and he is trying to keep this hidden from the Church.

Prayer takes time. We have to learn to wait and believe. One day you will see that your prayers have had a mighty effect in the spiritual realm. Do not give up or ever think it is not important to pray today. If ever there was a need for intercession, it is now. We are in a key (kairos) time in all of history. The Greek word “kairos” in the New Testament means the appointed or opportune time that God has set for something to occur. During a kairos time, we must respond in prayer and press through in intercession in order to see God’s plan fulfilled. We are in a time of urgent opportunity, and we must seize it in prayer. This is the appointed season for change and for intercession to increase.

We must not fear the future or believe the lies of the enemy, but we must stand strong in authoritative prayer.

Fear weakens us and gives us an unsound mind. Instead, we must know our authority in prayer to see powerful change on earth and in our own personal lives. We can pray God’s future plan into being through our intercession. If we pray strategic, authoritative, and prophetic prayers then we will be praying the future into being. Authority is the key to strength and power. We have awesome responsibility. But we need God’s revelation of our spiritual authority because we rarely grasp the full potential of the strength and power of prayer that is available to us. We go about our daily activities and forget that we are united with Christ. We are connected with Him as our head, and we are His Church designed to express the fullness of His power on earth. Carefully meditate on the Apostle Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 1:18-23 to get the full picture.

“I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.”

God has incomparably great power – When we meditate on these verses we have hope for the future
Christ is seated at God’s right hand – We are raised to sit with Him in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6).
Jesus defeated Satan at the cross – We fight a defeated foe (Colossians 2:15).
We are called to enforce Jesus authority on earth through prayer – We must resist the enemy daily (James 4:7).

A few weeks ago I was on my way to a prayer meeting in a nearby church on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. I was not very familiar with that church even though it was not far from my house. Therefore I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going. Having thought I passed it, I turned around and drove into the parking lot of a building. Going up to the door and finding it was locked, I knocked and asked a gentleman if this was the church. The man turned to me and said with a tiny laugh, “No, this is the fire department.” I realized suddenly what an incredible mistake I had made. I was at the fire department!

God spoke to my heart through this experience. We are in an emergency situation. The house is on fire! Cities are on fire! There is an emergency in the nations. The harvest is ripe, and Satan knows that his time is short. He is doing everything he can to steal, kill and destroy. We must pray – We must encourage everyone around us to pray – We must shake awake those who are asleep – We must become radical and passionate in prayer. The city is on fire! Prayer is the answer. When we pray, we are empowered to reach the lost. Then we take action with the power of God. God rules through His body, the praying Church!

The hope for the nations is an anointed prayer movement. It is God’s people knowing the strength and the power of prayer and enforcing God’s will on earth through it. God has given us breakthrough authority to change nations. Authority is delegated power similar to a police officer when he enforces the law. Through our prayers we can change the atmosphere over cities. Through our prayers, we can bring into subjection demonic powers and principalities and disciple the nations. Through our prayers God releases deliverance and transforms society. God is calling us to use our authority in prayer to bind the enemy’s work and to loose His Kingdom on earth. Let’s learn to take hold of the strength and power of prayer and pray down God’s blessings on our world.

The Supremacy of Christ

”He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have supremacy” (Colossians 1:15-18).

If we want a powerful prayer life, we must believe that Christ is supreme and above all. This needs to go much deeper than head knowledge. This needs to be heart revelation. We need to abide in this truth. It is important to have a high view of Christ because He is our representative, advocate, intercessor, King and Savior. Jesus is supreme in our prayer life. We pray in His powerful name, we glorify and worship Him throughout the day, and we intercede to the supreme Christ who is Head over all, the majestic Savior of the world.

This knowledge of the supremacy of Christ should affect us as believers in every way. It should radically affect our prayer life. We live in a world that tries to minimize the supremacy of Christ. Satan knows that his time is short. The antichrist spirit is permeating society in every area. If we are bringing the Kingdom of God and Christ into this world through our prayers, we must know and proclaim the power of this truth, the reality of the supremacy of Christ over every area of darkness encountered on earth.

The truth is found in Colossians 3:11b, “but Christ is all, and is in all.” Let the reality of the supremacy of Christ touch you deeply. Let this staggering reality change your life completely. May it touch all who are growing in intercession as Christ’s disciples just as it did the Apostles Peter, Paul and John.

“But the reality of God is staggering! Peter did not succumb under the convicting power of ‘religious knowledge’ – he met the reality of Jesus Christ! On the road to Damascus, Paul was not blinded and devastated by a ‘new doctrine’ – he met the reality of Jesus Christ! When John beheld our glorified Lord on Patmos, it was not a ‘new spiritual insight’ that left him slain as a dead man – he beheld Jesus Christ!” Francis Frangipane

What does His supremacy mean in His name? It means that His Name is divine.

Lord – (kurios) – He is Lord, master and owner.
Jesus – (Iesous) – He is Yahweh. Yahweh is help and salvation.
Christ- (Kristos) – He is the Anointed One, a title for Messiah.
The Lord Jesus Christ – He is our master, owner, the God who brings us salvation, the Anointed one.

The Scripture leaves no question about the incarnation of Christ. God became human, “infinity compressed to a span beyond our comprehension.” When Jesus Christ walked on earth He had all the limitation of a real human being: He ate, got tired, wept, suffered and was tempted. It appears that as a real man He used none of His Godhead powers directly for the entire duration of His earthly ministry. He did all that a true trusting son of a father would do. Jesus demonstrated all the characteristics of true humanity without sinning.

How the Scriptures Present His Supremacy

“And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death – even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:8-11).

I encourage you to take time to meditate on the following verses and worship Jesus in His supremacy, glory and greatness. As you worship Him and pray over these verses, He will become bigger in your eyes.

He is the image of the invisible God, He is the representation of the reality of God
The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven” (Hebrews 1:3).
He is the firstborn over all creation
Firstborn means His lordship, dignity, excellence, and leadership of all creation – “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation” (Colossians 1:15).
He is the Creator and sustainer of all things
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men” (John 1:1-4).
He is the Head of the Church
“And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy” (Colossians 1:18).
He is seated in the place of absolute authority
“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the majesty in heaven” (Hebrews 1:3).
He is called God by God
“But about the Son he says, ‘Your throne, O God, will last forever, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy” (Hebrews 1:8-9).

As intercessors, we need to lift our view of Christ higher and higher. See His greatness in your life situation, see His ability to answer your prayers, see His solution to every problem you face. The devil is doing all he can to destroy the reality of Christ’s supremacy. He is trying to convince the world that he has won. But the truth of the matter is this – the greatest battle has already been won at the cross. Jesus Christ is the answer to the world, He is the reason for our existence, and He is our help in every circumstance. He is the living Christ, the head of the Church.

As we abide in Him and in the reality of His glorious supremacy, we become partakers of His resurrection life, His victorious life. As we pray in His name, we pray in His authority. We begin to see His power over sin and over every spiritual battle we face. We begin to rise up to our destiny in Christ because we are seated with Him in heavenly places and we know it! (See Colossians 3:1, Ephesians 2:6)

“He who abides in Christ the Risen and Glorified One, becomes in the same way partaker of His resurrection life and of the glory with which He has now been crowned in heaven. Unspeakable are the blessings that flow to the soul from the union with Jesus in His glorified life. This life is a life of perfect victory and rest… Abiding in Jesus, in whom he has been raised and set in the heavenly places, he receives of that glorious life streaming from the Head through every member of the body.” Andrew Murray

The Urgency of the Hour

“Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me, for in you my soul takes refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed. I cry out to God Most High, to God, who fulfills his purposes for me” (Psalm 57:1-2).

The hour is urgent. I remember when a devastating earthquake and huge tsunami that recently struck Japan. Massive walls of water caused terrified residents to flee the coast as houses and cars were washed away in a moment. Floodwaters shoved floating debris inland hitting highways, bridges, and homes. Heavy trucks were pushed aside by the power of those waves. Air travel and trains were shut down. It was the biggest earthquake in a century, so strong that even buildings in central Tokyo, 230 miles southwest of the quake swayed.

Survivors huddled on the airport roof and a flaming refinery like an inferno sent up huge columns of thick black smoke. Others waved white sheets from the upper floors of buildings. Residents ran into the streets as they attempted to leave the city. Two huge cargo vessels were tipped on their sides in one port. Thousands lost their lives suddenly in this enormous disaster.

The hour in Japan was urgent.

Most of us sense in our hearts that we are moving towards an unusual time in all of world history. No longer are days as they were in the past. As I read about this Japan disaster, I thought to myself, “This is what I would read in fiction books.” What you read only in fiction books is now happening right before our eyes. We cannot escape it. It’s here and only going to increase as time goes on. But we as God’s children do not have to live in fear or defeat. Instead we need to move to a higher place in God.

We need to ascend the heights in prayer and find that place of peace in the center of God. He will fulfill His purpose for us. He is our protection and refuge in the storm.

We have had a multitude of tornados in America, and I live right on the border of Kansas. This state is situated along “tornado alley” where there are a lot of tornadoes. Of course tornados hit almost anywhere and any time, because the weather patterns are changing everywhere. There seems to be no certainty in anything anywhere, but God is stable and sure. We need not fear. He is our rock, our refuge, and stronghold.

So just as I will run downstairs into our tornado shelter if bad weather approaches, we can run to God when storm clouds threaten our world. Jesus is our safe place. He is stronger than any cement fortress. He wants us to prepare and rise up to live where He lives during the end times. There is no more time to sit on the fence. He wants to shake us out of complacency right where we are. There is always higher ground to ascend to in our prayer life, devotion, and intimacy with God.

As in the Days of Noah

“For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark” (Matthew 24:38).

As in the days of Noah, people are living life as if no tsunami is coming. But look, it is happening before our eyes. Life goes on and so many want to live in denial and pretend that Jesus is not coming soon. They continue to live as if there is no seriousness about the hour in which we live. Eat, drink, and be merry. I remember a drama our evangelistic teams would do overseas many years ago called “Eat – Drink – Sleep”. Individuals would take turns visualizing eating, drinking, and sleeping and in the end show the futility of life if that is all there is!

There had to be a purpose to it all.

It’s time to build our ark for the storm is already upon us. Intercessors, it’s time to rise up and ascend the heights in prayer. God will help you to build your ark (prepare for the future). Others will continue to question and even mock those who are preparing and positioning themselves for the future. Our every step is vitally important to God. A few years ago, one step led me to a might fall down the stairs in my own home which I considered a safe place. We must consider our every step. We must learn to live in the center of God’s peace and presence as the storm clouds come.

This is the most fruitful time in all of human history if we would only learn to get onto God’s wavelength and agenda. The day of the Lord is at hand. It’s a new exciting day if we will only shake off the way of life of the past and live in the now. Regardless of age or nation, we are all called to live in this present season fully and freely for God. This will be the best of this life. As we live for eternity and for God, we will be most joyous and free. As we try to hang onto the past way of life, we will be most afraid. It is a new day.

What Can We Do, and How Can We Live?

“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak” (Matthew 26:41).

Rather than trying to escape and hide, perhaps there is a better way to live in the end times as the return of the Lord draws near. A few years ago during an ordinary morning, I was upstairs running to answer the door to receive a new computer for writing these articles. I missed the top step of a very steep stairway, hit my heel, and begin to fall. As I tried to regain my composer on the second or third step, I begin to fall forward. I fell the rest of the way down the stairs and landed on my wrist. As I lay at the bottom of the stairs, I looked at my twisted wrist and knew that I couldn’t walk or even attempt to stand on my foot. My husband and I went to the emergency room of the hospital and I knew that my life would change. I was in an emergency situation and there was no turning back.

You and I are in a world emergency. The financial crisis in the world alone should make us realize that God wants to get our attention. He is shaking everything that can be shaken. Most of us have been in a personal shaking of God’s own design. Falling down the stairs and experiencing a broken right wrist and right heel has given me a more urgent look at life. Hour after hour and day after day I was able to look more seriously at the situation in life. I was helpless, and was able to see my desperate need of God in my most urgent hours.

God wants us to get into His way of thinking for the very final years of human history before His return. He wants us to prepare spiritually for the days that are upon us. In my own crisis of breaking bones, when I had to sit still I noticed how most people were rushing around. They were running here, there, and everywhere. But to be still and in tune with the living God was not fully practiced. It’s time that each one of us stops and listens to the Lord. It doesn’t matter where we are or what we do. The Lord wants our attention.

Here are some crucial ways to prepare:

1) Prepare in prayer – Prepare your own heart. Give yourself to prayer. Here at the mission’s base in Kansas City, I am sitting in the IHOP Global Prayer Room on an ordinary Thursday morning, and hundreds of young people are here praying and seeking God. Give yourself to prayer in a greater way. Worship God. The end times require it.

2) Get rid of the secondary things in your life – In emergencies, secondary things don’t matter. In my own personal crisis, I realized this very quickly. I could do nothing but seek God. I couldn’t move, I couldn’t cook, and I couldn’t walk, or write these letters. I was helpless. Secondary things did not matter. I was present in the emergency, and I was living to survive the hour. God brought me through with a wealth of understanding in my own heart regarding the end times. I am so thankful for my own personal shaking.

3) Begin praying for the emergencies around the world – As the end times unravels before us, emergencies will increase. God wants us to pray. The world is in crisis, and we must learn to pray for the crises around us locally, nationally, and internationally.

4) Live in God’s peace – He promises peace in every circumstance. He is our peace. When you feel frantic or uptight about the future, stop and center in on God. He is above and beyond all the tragedies. Your peace is an incredible testimony in hard times and will help those around you to find Him as their Prince of Peace. Jesus is alive! He wants to make Himself known in the midst of the present shaking.

As in the days of Noah, people will say what a fool we are to fast and pray, but when the rain starts falling, it’s too late. We must prepare in every way today. We must position ourselves before God daily in prayer and wait upon Him for direction. He will show us how to prepare in every other way – emotionally, physically, mentally, etc. When I fell and was in a helpless state I realized how very dependent I was on God for my very breath. I cannot take anything for granted.

We must check our spirit daily. I had to rest in God’s presence in order to not get discouraged when the trial seemed so long and endless. I had to also work physically by doing daily therapy on my wrist and foot as I was in the healing process. It seemed so lengthy and time-consuming but I had to do it. We must prepare physically for the last days. We must get out of debt. I had to position myself relationally. Friends helped me in my time of need. Numerous calls and emails, a word of encouragement at a difficult moment, and an electric blanket gift when I was so cold from lack of movement. This helped me in my moment of need.

Mentally I had to position my mind. This was not going to be a quick fix. It was a long-term trial. I had to say to myself, “Debbie, this will take time. Be patient. God is going to help me through this one day at a time.” And He did. We must be alert to God’s overall preparation in our lives, not only for ourselves but so that we can help others in the days ahead.

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. Selah. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day. Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts. The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah. Come and see the works of the Lord, the desolations he has brought on the earth. He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear, he burns the shields with fire. ‘Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.’ The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Yo Elijo la Alabanza

“La alabanza provoca que la presencia de Dios entre en medio de nosotros. Aun cuando Dios es omnisciente, Él manifiesta Su autoridad y reinado en nuestro ambiente cuando le alabamos. Cuando alabamos, Dios viene y nos lleva adelante… Cuando alabamos, nuestra fe y confianza aumentan. La palabra ‘habita’ o ‘entronado’ (yashab) significa juzgar en emboscada. Por lo tanto, Él se sienta justo en medio de nuestras vidas y juzga al enemigo que nos rodea. Solo piensa en Dios sentado justo en el centro de tu vida. Ningún enemigo es capaz de destronarte porque Él no puede ser vencido. ¡Eso es la alabanza!” Chuck Pierce

“Yo elijo alabar.” Estas tres palabras son extremadamente importantes para nuestras victorias en los días que vienen. No hay ni uno de nosotros que no vaya a ser probado o que no estén siendo probados en este momento en esta elección de si va a elegir alabar a Dios en medio de las dificultades.

La batalla espiritual se esta calentando con cada día que pasa porque el enemigo sabe que le queda poco tiempo. Así que cualquiera que quiera orar o que esté guiando a los demás a orar será seriamente atacado. Este es el motivo por el que necesitamos orar sin cesar por aquellos que lideran grupos de oración, equipos de alabanza, o organizaciones de oración. El enemigo odia la oración. Conoce su poder para deshacer cada uno de sus planes. Por este motivo, cuando el enemigo nos ataca, debemos elegir alabanza y adoración como principales armas de combate. Nuestra fe y confianza entonces se incrementan. Permitidme compartir con vosotros mi situación durante esta semana pasada.

Entré en un nuevo nivel de paz porque elegí la alabanza. En estos últimos días, he recibido la desalentadora noticia de parte de un cirujano de que existe un 80% de posibilidades de que tenga cáncer de mama. Esto era algo totalmente inesperado y fue una noticia devastadora. Después de varios días de luchas con emociones que se contradecían, desalientos desesperación, temor y sensaciones de falta de esperanza, de la rotura de los sueños y de las visiones para mi futuro, leí un articulo acerca de elegir la alabanza.

Entré en un nuevo nivel de paz. Dios siempre supo esto. El enemigo no puede destruir mi destino. Dios me dio una visión para la oración y para Intercesores Arriba. Él no me defraudará, y Él completará Sus propósitos. Dios tiene el poder y la autoridad para vencer sobre todo ataque del enemigo. Quiero vivir para ver el movimiento de oración levantarse en vuelo, pero Dios puede hacerlo de la manera que Él elija. Así que ahora mismo, elijo alabarle y adorarle a Dios, declarando Sus promesas.

Estoy viendo que Dios se hace más grande en mis ojos cuando yo le magnifico.

Quiero animaros como intercesores a que os levantéis a un nuevo nivel de alabanza en vuestra propia vida. Muchas veces como creyentes no llegamos a ser conscientes del poder de la alabanza. Este poder de la alabanza es particularmente evidente en medio de circunstancias y pruebas desesperantes. Hace algunas semanas escribí acerca de estar agradecidos en cada circunstancia. La semana pasada escribí acerca de las promesas de Dios. La alabanza, el agradecimiento y la adoración van juntos. Orar las promesas de Dios es parte de todo esto.

Una de las más importantes formas en las que el enemigo va a intentar llegar a ti es en el área de la fe. Intentará desanimarte y desalentarte. Hará lo que sea para traerte abajo y hacer que temas. Tu y yo debemos aprender a andar en la paz sobrenatural de Dios cuando los días se pongan peores. Los desastres que se ciernen sobre el mundo solo van a incrementar. Dios está trastornando todo lo que pueda ser trastornado. No estoy diciendo esto para alarmaros sino para exhortaros a vivir una vida de oración y alabanza apasionadas. Esta es la época para que el Reino de Dios venga sobre la tierra con mayor poder.

Esta es nuestra oportunidad para poder cosechar.

El mundo entero es consciente de este trastorno. Recientemente estando en un tren en un país musulmán, me encontré con un hombre que me dijo que las tragedias sobre la tierra se incrementan. Esto es lo que la Biblia dice acerca de los últimos días.

Dios está hablando a los corazones en todo el mundo. Miré a las personas en el tren, jovenes y viejos. Sabía que esta ciudad esta sobre una falla y preparada para un terremoto de grandes magnitudes. La respuesta a los dilemas del mundo es Dios. Existe una desesperación, una pasión, y un nivel de alabanza y adoración al que Dios quiere que ascendamos en oración. Este será nuestro remedio como vencedores en los últimos días. Esto nos mantendrá victoriosos. Sigue alabando a Dios en tu situación. No te rindas. Sigue presionando hasta ver la victoria. Incluso si oyes noticias devastadoras como me pasó a mí la semana pasada, elige alabar a Dios y habitar en Sus atributos.

Magnifica al Señor. Él se hará más grande a tus ojos.

La Alabanza Abre el Camino

“La alabanza nos prepara para orar. Cuando adoramos a Dios como nuestro Consejero, incrementa nuestra fe para pedir sabiduría. Cuando le alabamos como el Gran Sanador, incrementa nuestra fe para pedirle sanidad. Cuando recordamos como ha provisto en el pasado, fortalece nuestra fe para pedir provisión de nuevo. La alabanza construye nuestra fe en lo que Dios es: Redentor, Consejero, Salvador, Liberador, Defensor, Amigo.” Buddy Owens

Necesitamos preguntarnos a nosotros mismos, “¿Qué ocurre cuando elegimos alabar?” La alabanza abre el camino para la bendición de Dios en nuestras vidas. Elegir alabar derrota al enemigo en cada dimensión. Nos ayuda a saber como vivir en los últimos tiempos. La alabanza es tan importante porque cuando alabamos a Dios:

El enemigo es derrotado – La oscuridad desaparece ante la luz, y la alabanza trae la luz de Dios.

Nuestra fe es fortalecida – Pasamos de dudas y emociones negativas a movernos en un nuevo nivel de fe cuando alabamos a Dios en nuestras circunstancias de pruebas.
Glorificamos a Dios y avanzamos Su Reino – El Reino de Dios se presenta en la tierra allá donde haya una atmósfera de alabanza.

Se abre el camino para que ocurra la sanidad – La fe es un ingrediente necesario para la sanidad, y la alabanza incrementa la fe.

Nuestro destino se cumple – Nuestro destino se cumplirá en totalidad cuando alabamos a Dios en cada situación.

Creo en el poder sanador de Dios y sé que Dios contesta las oraciones. Dios te ha elegido para que vivas en estos tiempos. Dale lo mejor que tengas. Vive en un nivel d continua alabanza y adoración. Magnifica a Dios. Dios te usará para alcanzar a los perdidos y necesitados que están tratando de encontrar respuestas en tiempos difíciles. Serás uno que traiga Su salvación, gloria y gracia a sus vidas.

Pasión por el Avivamiento

“Cada derramamiento significativo del Espíritu Santo parece haber sido precedido por intercesión intensa y agonizante, acompañada de quebrantamiento de corazón y humillación ante Dios… Que nadie pida avivamiento – que nadie pida un poderoso bautismo de poder si no se está preparado para sufrir profundas búsquedas en el corazón y confesión de pecado en nuestras propias vidas. El avivamiento, en su comienzo, es la experiencia mas humillante que hay. Cuando uno, como Isaias, se ve a sí mismo en la luz de la santidad de Dios, debe inevitablemente clamar, ¡ay de mí! Un avivamiento espiritual profundo, ya sea en iglesias locales o en paises enteros, comienza con personas desesperadas.”

Nunca ha habido un avivamiento sin pasión. El intenso nivel de intercesión antes del avivamiento es extraordinario. Hay una profunda introspección y desesperación acerca del pecado personal y del pueblo. El avivamiento galés tuvo estas características. Fue conocido por la intercesión. Muchos de nosotros encontramos difícil el añadir reuniones de oración a nuestras ya muy ocupadas vidas, pero cuando un gran avivamiento llega, nada de esto parece importar. La oración y el ponerse a bien con Dios parece convertirse en lo más importante. Cuando pienso acerca de esto y de nuestra necesidad de oración apasionada y una mayor preocupación por las almas, ciertamente nuestro clamor desesperado debiera ser por avivamiento que barra toda nuestra nación. Ciertamente necesitamos buscar en nuestros corazones y clamar “¡Dios, purifícame!”

Pero ¿estamos dispuestos a pagar el precio y permitir que Dios nos doblegue como hizo con Evan Roberts?

“Miles de creyentes, con frecuencia sin conocerse el uno al otro, en pueblos pequeños y grandes ciudades, clamaban a Dios día tras día para que cayera el fuego del avivamiento. Esto no era un mero hablar con Jesús sino una agonizante intercesión diaria. Estos eran devotos santos que habían dado sus vidas al sacrificio de la oración y la alabanza. Eran tan celosos por el nombre de su Dios que agonizaban día y noche por la forma en la que Satanás estaba siendo glorificado alrededor de ellos y añoraban desde lo mas profundo de sus seres que el nombre del Señor fuese levantado en Gales. Recordaban constantemente a Dios acerca de lo que había hecho en 1859, a través del segundo gran avivamiento y le rogaban, que derramase de Su espíritu de nuevo.”

Características de la Pasión del Avivamiento

Algunos de los significados de la palabra pasión en el diccionario Webster son: altamente excitado, expresando fuerte emoción, con fuertes sentimientos, celoso, profundo deseo. Gran pasión y celo fueron expresados en los pasados avivamientos pidiendo santidad, predicaciones poderosas, pureza de vida, proclamación temeraria de la verdad, obediencia y la salvación de los perdidos.

Una pasión por predicación con unción – Los avivamientos se caracterizan por una poderosa y apasionada proclamación de la verdad. La predicación es muy ungida, espontánea y sin temor. La predicación se centra en Cristo. Las palabras se hablan con una demostración del poder de Dios. Hay existentes una unción y un valor sobrenaturales.
”En el avivamiento de Evans Mills, Finney recuerda: El Espiritu de Dios cayó sobre mí con tal poder que fue como abrir una bateria delante de ellos. Durante más de una hora, la Palabra de Dios llegó a través de mí a ellos de tal forma que yo podía ver como les llegaba. Era un fuego y un martillo rompiendo rocas, y como la palabra que es penetrante… vi una gran convicción esparciéndose sobre toda la audiencia.” Winkie Pratney

Una pasión por la oración y la santidad – Aquellos en el avivamiento tenían una profunda pasión por la oración y por poner sus vidas en orden delante de Dios. No había tolerancia del pecado. Había humildad, una urgente confesión de pecado y un santo temor de Dios. La mundanidad era desechada. Grandes números asistían a las reuniones de oración de madrugada. El pueblo estaba obsesionado con obedecer la voluntad de Dios. “Evan Roberts capturó el espíritu de todo el avivamiento con el tema: Doblega a la iglesia y salva al mundo. James E. Stewart proclamó que este era el secreto de todo verdadero avivamiento. Los cristianos deben humillarse a sí mismos y ponerse en orden con Dios para que el espíritu pueda llegar en poder de conversión sobre los perdidos. No debe haber hipocresía; el cristiano debe doblegarse a la totalidad de la voluntad de Dios para su vida en perfecta obediencia antes de que el espíritu de Dios sea liberado. Cuando estamos sometidos a la voluntad de Dios seremos intercesores, porque como ÉL vive por siempre para interceder por su pueblo, si estamos viviendo en Él, haremos lo mismo.”

Una Pasión por los perdidos – La preocupación por los perdidos durante el avivamiento era extraordinaria. El gozo de conocer a Cristo no podía esconderse. Había una pasión por ver la salvación de las almas. Cada cual era luz a sus vecinos y compañeros de trabajo.
“No puede haber avivamiento sin salvación de almas. En la salvación de almas perdidas el avivamiento galés debe ser considerado uno de los más intensos y efectivos avivamientos de todos los tiempos. Este no fue un programa para unos cuantos predicadores o una campaña para que los miembros de la iglesia diesen testimonio de la gracia para salvación de nuestro Señor Jesucristo. No se dieron clases acerca de cómo llegar a los perdidos. Solo parecía que cada creyente en Gales erupcionaba simultáneamente con una ardiente agonía por los perdidos. El gozo de la salvación no podía ser contenido por los creyentes cuando en cada mina de carbón, tranvía, oficina, escuela o barco se convertía en un pulpito para el evangelio… no existía un patrón de estrategia para dar testimonio; simplemente nacía de un rebosar de gozo y fe que no podía ser contenido en aquellos que conocían al Señor.” Citas sin nombres por Rick Joynor

A la luz de nuestra desesperada necesidad de avivamiento a nivel mundial, animo a todos los intercesores a involucrarse en la oración durante estos días.

“Los avivamientos tanto locales como internacionales han sido vinculados específicamente a oración especial… el avivamiento que viene no será una excepción. Un extraordinario espíritu de oración, moviendo a los creyentes a mucha oración secreta y unida, empujándoles a trabajar fervientemente (Col. 4:12) en sus suplicas, será una de las señales seguras del acercamiento de lluvias e inundaciones de bendición.” Andrew Murray

Orando en el Nombre de Jesús

“Y diréis en aquel día: ‘Cantad a Jehová, aclamad su nombre, haced célebres en los pueblos sus obras, recordad que su nombre es engrandecido’” (Isaías 12:4).

La oración en el nombre de Jesús es poderosa porque cuando oramos en Su nombre oramos con Su autoridad. Él promete contestar a todo lo que pidamos en Su nombre de acuerdo con Su voluntad. Este es el motivo por el que debemos saber la voluntad de Dios en orden de orar con la autoridad de Jesús. Esta verdad es tan maravillosa, tan poderosa y tan gloriosa porque tenemos la certeza de que Él oye nuestras oraciones. A través de la oración en Su nombre haremos saber entre las naciones lo que El ha hecho. ¿Has entendido lo que esto significa? ¿Has comprendido personalmente su significado?

¿Has tomado ventaja de esta maravillosa promesa en las circunstancias de tu propia vida?

“De cierto, de cierto os digo que todo cuanto pidáis al Padre en mi nombre, os lo dará. Hasta ahora nada habéis pedido en mi nombre; pedid, y recibiréis, para que vuestro gozo sea completo” (Juan 16:23b-24).

Durante las ultimas dos semanas, pasé diez días en el hospital mientras mi padre era intervenido con cirugía a corazón abierto. Cuatro días después de la operación de corazón, tuvo una hemorragia interna y lo tuvieron que intervenir de nuevo. En la sala de espera, oré en el nombre de Jesús para que la hemorragia se cortase. La operación tuvo éxito y la hemorragia se cortó. ¿Contesta Dios las oraciones en el nombre de Jesús? Si. ¿Fue nuestro gozo completado? Si. Dios salvó la vida de mi padre. Su nombre es poderoso. Permítanme decirles que el poder del nombre de Jesús significó mucho para nosotros en esos momentos críticos.

Pero ¿qué significa tener autoridad en el nombre de Jesús? ¿No es esto algo que debiéramos apropiarnos e interiorizarlo muy profundamente en nuestros corazones para que verdaderamente oremos con la autoridad de Jesús? ¿No es esto algo que puede revolucionar nuestra fe y darnos gran valor en la grandeza y confianza de nuestras oraciones?

Con demasiada frecuencia oramos oraciones demasiado débiles, con nuestros ojos puestos en las imposibilidades, cuando en realidad el Dios del universo y el victorioso Salvador del hombre está a nuestro lado en fuerza y poder. Su Nombre es un castillo fuerte y una fortaleza que todas las fuerzas de la oscuridad no pueden resistir. Que los versículos en esta carta estimulen vuestra fe para creer en la grandeza y el poder del nombre de Jesús en vuestra propia vida de oración.

Lo que Significa Orar en el Nombre de Jesús

“El nombre de Jesús es la puerta de entrada a través de la cual nuestras oraciones deben Entrar al cielo. Su Nombre es la llave de acceso que abre las cuentas del cielo.” Alice Smith

Oramos con la autoridad de Jesús – “Cuando oramos con la autoridad de Jesús, estamos reconociendo Su divinidad. Más aún, estamos reclamando la victoria del calvario para nuestras necesidades. Se podría decir que estamos disponiendo de las cuentas corrientes del cielo usando el poder notarial que Él nos ha dado.”

“Si algo pedís en mi nombre, yo lo haré” (Juan 14:14).
Oramos en Su lugar y para Su gloria – Oramos de acuerdo con todo lo que Él es y de acuerdo con Su palabra y Su carácter.
“Todo lo que pidáis al Padre en mi nombre, lo haré, para que el Padre sea glorificado en el Hijo” (Juan 14:13).
Creemos en el poder de Su Nombre – Oramos con fe porque creemos en el poder de Su Nombre. Conocemos y experimentamos de forma creciente la realidad de las oraciones contestadas que han sido hechas en su nombre.
“Por la fe en su nombre, a este, que vosotros veis y conocéis, lo ha confirmado su nombre; y la fe que es por él ha dado a este esta completa sanidad en presencia de todos vosotros” (Hechos 3:16).
Vivimos nuestras vidas y traemos nuestras peticiones en Su Nombre – Él contestará nuestras oraciones cuando vivamos para Él y oremos en Su Nombre.
“Y todo lo que hacéis, sea de palabra o de hecho, hacedlo todo en el nombre del Señor Jesús, dando gracias a Dios Padre por medio de él” (Colosenses 3:17).
Conseguimos Su ayuda al hacer uso de Su Nombre – Jesús viene en nuestra ayuda cuando clamamos en Su Nombre.
“Ya que todo aquel que invoque el nombre del Señor, será salvo” (Romanos 10:13).
Nos recordamos a nosotros mismos lo que Su Nombre significa – Reclamamos las promesas en las Escrituras y entendemos el valor de lo que Su Nombre representa.
“Jehová, Señor nuestro, cuán grande es tu nombre en toda la tierra” (Salmos 8:1).
Oramos relacionándonos con Jesús – Nuestra relación con Jesús crece en poder cuando experimentamos Su amor y fidelidad en la oración. Oramos sobre la base de nuestra relación con Él cuando oramos en Su Nombre.
“No a nosotros, Jehová, no a nosotros, sino a tu nombre da gloria, por tu misericordia, por tu verdad” (Salmos 115:1).

Que nunca olvidemos que el Nombre de Jesús es la llave que abre las cuentas de los cielos y nos trae su gran poder en nuestra vida diaria. El año pasado mi esposo estaba en el cine con sus dos sobrinos. Durante la película, un adolescente dejó de respirar. Su padre comenzó a gritar: “David respira, David respira.” Pararon la película, y la gente comenzó a temer y a entrar en pánico. Mi esposo salió a buscar ayuda. De repente, se acercó tranquilamente hacia el chico, se agachó, puso sus manos sobre él y dijo calladamente: “en el Nombre de Jesús, respira”. David comenzó a respirar momentáneamente. Dios contestó a la oración. Hay poder en el nombre de Jesús.

Veremos los milagros y maravillas de Dios cuando oremos en el Nombre de Jesús. Debiéramos esperarlo en fe.

“Estas señales seguirán a los que creen: En mi nombre echarán fuera demonios, hablarán nuevas lenguas, tomarán serpientes en las manos y, aunque beban cosa mortífera, no les hará daño; sobre los enfermos pondrán sus manos, y sanarán” (Marcos 16:17-18).

Oración de Oir y Expectación

“’La palabra de Dios llegó a Elias… mandare lluvia sobre la tierra.’ Esa era la base de la oración persistente y de la vigilancia repetida siete veces desde la cima de la montaña. Primero el oído oyó, despues la voz clamó persistente-mente, y los ojos miraron con expectación. Primero la voz de Dios, después la voz del hombre. Este es el verdadero orden. Tremendos resultados siempre seguirá a esta combinacion.”

Tengo varias preguntas para que las pienses hoy – ¿Eres capaz de soportar el silencio?

¿Estas sintonizado para oír la callada voz de Dios? ¿Eres capaz de oír con atención lo que ÉL esta diciendo por encima de todo el ruido de tu mundo? Esto es crucial porque debemos de ser capaces de oír la voz de Dios con claridad como intercesores para poder orar SU voluntad. Todos sabemos lo que es hablarle a alguien que nunca escucha. ¡Frustrante! De la misma forma, Dios quiere que aprendamos a oirle a Él.

Es cuando pasamos tiempo ante Él en la quietud que oye, que podemos orar Su voluntad más fervientemente y con mayor expectación. Intercedemos con oraciones que dan en el blanco muy efectivamente. Necesitamos estar en el blanco cuando oramos por las situaciones que vemos a nuestro alrededor. Y yo quiero animarte, diciendote de que si le das tiempo a Dios en esa oración que oye, Él dirigirá tus oraciones muy estratégicamente, aun sin que te des cuenta. Él te ayudará a proclamar Su voluntad en tus oraciones, y tu nivel de expectación será incrementado.

”Alguien dijo una vez: ‘si le apuntas a nada, seguro que le das.’ Esto es tan cierto para los intercesores como lo es para los arqueros. Para poder orar estratégica y efectivamente, los intercesores – como los arqueros – se pueden beneficiar de la atención al detalle y de cuidadosa puntería. Cuando sabemos exactamente por lo que orar, oramos en el blanco. Podemos identificar y quitar obstáculos espirituales, invitando al poder y la presencia del Espíritu Santo de Dios a nuestras vidas y situaciones.” Arlyn Lawrence

Dios tiene mucho que decirnos a diario, pero con frecuencia no oimos los callados tonos de Su voz. Cuando yo era niña, mi padre fabricaba y vendía audífonos desde nuestro hogar. Los individuos venian a casa con audífonos estropeados ke necesitaban reparación. Nosotros, como familia, ni siquiera nos molestábamos en entrar en el salón a hablarles, porque sabiamos que no nos podían oír. Su audífono requería reparación.

¿Cuantos de nosotros estamos en la misma situación con Dios? Él no puede decirnos cosas porque nuestro oido requiere reparación o porque no tomamos tiempo para oir. Él no puede entrar en el salón de nuestras vidas porque no estamos dispuestos para oir en orden de conseguir los tesoros de lo que Él tiene que decirnos a nosotros. Y puede que Dios se sienta de la misma forma en que nosotros ni siquiera intentábamos comunicarnos con nuestros huéspedes sordos. Él no puede compartir sus secretos porque no podemos oír o porque estamos demasiado distraídos. No podemos oirle susurrar en nuestros oídos. Como resultado, nosotros somos los que nos perdemos y hemos elegido cosas inferiores. Y nuestra expectación de lo que Dios puede hacer disminuye.

La oración que oye aumenta la expectación.

”Esta tenía una hermana que se llamaba María, la cual, sentándose a los pies de Jesús, oía su palabra. Marta, en cambio, se preocupaba con muchos quehaceres y, acercándose, dijo: Señor, ¿no te da cuidado que mi hermana me deje servir sola? Dile, pues, que me ayude. Respondiendo Jesús, le dijo: Marta, Marta, afanada y turbada estás con muchas cosas. Pero solo una cosa es necesaria, y María ha escogido la buena parte, la cual no le será quitada” (Lucas 10:39-42).

Tres Dimensiones de la Oración que Oye

El Oido Oye – ¿Estás escuchando con atención?
Es muy fácil para nosotros el hacer planes y despues pedirle a Dios que los bendiga. Pero para ser un intercesor efectivo, debemos aprender a oír SUS planes y a cooperar con ÉL. Entonces estaremos en condiciones de hacer oraciones “tamaño Dios” y a unirnos a Dios en sociedad con SU contestación. Su bendición entonces sigue porque los planes de Dios siempre traen enormes bendiciones. Puede que tarde, pero en su momento, recogeremos una cosecha. El oír es clave para ser efectivo. Es una habilidad a ser desarrollada en todas las relaciones, pero especialmente en nuestra relación con Dios. Si no escuchamos a Dios y nos aferramos a Su palabra, el diablo nos atacará continuamente con sus mentiras.
“La primera etapa del entrenamiento de oración de Moises fue quitar de su oido el ruido de Egipto para que pudiese oir los callados tonos de la voz de Dios. Aquel que pretenda ser diestro en la oración debe tomar un cursillo de silencio en la universidad de Arabia.”

La Voz Proclama Persistentemente – ¿Estás proclamando con persistencia?
A veces Dios nos dice cosas en el lugar secreto de escuchar, pero fallamos a la hora de reclamar con persistencia sus promesas. Puede que oremos durante un tiempo, pero después nos rendimos. Fallamos al no proclamar la verdad de SU Palabra. Pero cuando sí nos movemos a esa dimensión en la que sabemos lo que Dios quiere y oramos SU Palaabra con Su Unción, las respuestas por cierto llegarán. Nuestra fe se levantará a ese nivel de proclamación, y veremos el cumplimiento de nuestros sueños. La oración que oye construye una seguridad en nuestro ser interior acerca de la voluntad de Dios en el aquí y ahora que puede movernos una dimensión de proclamación persistente porque sabemos que conocemos la voluntad de Dios y lo que Él nos ha dicho.
“Cuando de tal manera absorvemos este libro (La Biblia), y el Espíritu de Aquel que és su vida, que la gente no pueda ver la linea divisoria entre el hombre y Dios dentro del hombre, entonces tendremos el mayor de los poderes como intercesores de Dios en la derrota del enemigo. Dios y hombre serán como uno en el servicio contra el enemigo.”
El Ojo Busca con Expectación – ¿Estás buscando con expectación?
Es fácil perder un corazón expectante cuando estamos siendo bombardeados por malas noticias de forma diaria. No queremos estar en el sitio en el que escuchamos las mentiras del enemigo. Queremos tener oidos que oyen los sonidos del cielo y ojos que buscan con expectación en todo lo que nos rodea. Pronto pasaremos a la eternidad, y será un lugar maravilloso en el que vivir. Cuando tú y yo hayamos estado lo bastante callados como para oír a Dios por encima del ruido de esta tierra, entonces viviremos una vida de expectación. Es hora de levantarse como intercesores y ver lo que Dios tiene para cada uno de nosotros. Estas orando en Su reino, estas hecho para reinar con Él, y un día todas tus lagrimas se convertirán en gozo. Aprende a escuchar ahora y el latido del corazón de Dios fortalecerá tus oraciones de proclamación, y tus ojos buscarán con expectación el cumplimiento de esas oraciones.
“Pero yo, miraré al Señor y en confianza me mantendré vigilante; esperaré con esperanza y expectación en el Dios de mi salvación; mi Dios me oirá” (Miquea 7:7, Traducción de la versión amplificada).

El Ejemplo de Moisés

Moisés aprendió a escuchar en el desierto. Él aprendió el valor de la soledad. Dios lo tenía en un programa de entrenamiento.

Temprano por la mañana, me levanté, cogí una taza de café, y me senté fuera a escuchar; escuchar a Dios, a los muchos ruidos de la naturaleza, a un mundo natural maravilloso de pájaros y animales en mi propio jardín. Fue una tremenda experiencia; mi nivel de expectación en Dios subió. Cuando nosotros como intercesores comenzamos a escuchar la voz de Dios que solo puede ser oída por un oído entrenado, un oído atento, entonces podremos andar en un nuevo nivel de productiva inspiración y unción del Espíritu Santo.

Yo quiero eso para mi vida. Se que tú también. Que Dios nos ayude a relentizarnos y a escuchar en oración, para entonces levantarnos en el poder de Dios con proclamaciones de vida y verdad que traen libertad a las vidas de todos aquellos que toquemos a través de la intercesión. Que nuestros ojos vigilen con expectación a todo aquello que Dios hará cuando aprendamos a vivir en este nivel de oración.

Señor, te pedimos que todos aquellos llamados a la intercesión aprendan el secreto de la oración que oye. Ayúdanos a levantarnos por encima del ruido de este mundo, a estar callados en silencio, y a aprender la habilidad del oído que escucha. Perdonanos por correr delante de ti y no escuchar tu quieta voz. Perdonanos por estar ansiosos porque nos apresuramos y tomamos los asuntos en nuestras propias manos. Habla a nuestro oído interno y muestranos tus planes y tus propósitos para nosotros. Ayúdanos a proclamar con insistencia las promesas que Tú nos das en el lugar secreto de la oración que oye. Ayudanos a movernos a una nueva dimensión en nuestra relación contigo. Haznos fuertes para que podamos soportar el silencio. Miramos adelante con expectación. Lo pedimos en el nombre de Jesús. Amén.

“Había dos etapas distintas en el entrenamiento de sus oidos (los de Moisés). Primero vinieron los cuarenta años de soledad en las arenas del desierto, a solas con las ovejas, las estrells, y – Dios. Sus oídos estaban siendo entrenados por el silencio. El bullicio y la confusión de la vida ocupada de Egipto estaban siendo sacadas de sus oidos. Cuan calladas son las voces de Dios. Que pocos hombres son lo suficiente fuertes como para soportar el silencio. Pues en el silencio Dios le habla al oido interno.” Citas por S. D. Gordon
