Un Avivamiento de Oración

10313447_1073834089346364_4213347490518722363_n“Preparen el camino del Señor, háganle sendas derechas. Todo valle será rellenado, todo monte y colina será allanada. Los caminos torcidos serán enderezados, los caminos ásperos allanados. Y verá toda carne la salvación de Dios” (Lucas 3:4-6).

En este momento estamos viviendo días de desesperación. La Iglesia, en muchas partes del mundo, necesita un avivamiento y Dios quiere usar a cada uno de nosotros para preparar el camino para un gran derramamiento de su Espíritu. Estoy segura de que sientes la urgencia de la hora. No es difícil ver que algo anda mal. Dios está tratando de llamar toda nuestra atención. Es realmente la hora de clamar al Señor y convertirnos en hombres y mujeres de oración ferviente. Necesitamos la intervención de Dios en nuestras ciudades y naciones. Los valles de la derrota deben ser llenados, los montes de incredulidad deben ser nivelados, los lugares torcidos de la falta de honradez deben ser enderezados y lo áspero de desobediencia deben ser suavizado.

Fue hace casi 25 años en el campo misionero cuando escribí los dos párrafos siguientes en un boletín. Me parece que hoy en día todavía tengo que hacerme las mismas preguntas que hice entonces:

“Estoy suficientemente desesperada para el avivamiento? ¿Me doy cuenta de la situación desesperada de mi país?” Y, si confío en la organización religiosa, la riqueza material, la predicación popular, en cruzadas evangelísticas de poca profundidad, entonces nunca habrá un avivamiento. Pero cuando la confianza en mi carne se desvanece y me doy cuenta de mi miseria desesperada y del vacío delante de Dios, entonces y sólo entonces, Dios traerá rompimiento. “Señor, hazme esta lista para el avivamiento. Avívame.”

Le animo a que se unan a mí en oración por un avivamiento para nuestras vidas y para las naciones. Hago un llamado por un tipo de oración que es fuerte, dominante, creyente, que mueve a Dios, que vence al infierno, que resiste al diablo, que salva al pecador, santifica al creyente, que exalta a Cristo y produce obreros – el tipo de oración que toma posesión de todo lo que somos y tenemos. Dios mismo nos motiva a orar estas oraciones que tienen consecuencias extraordinarias si sólo estamos dispuestos, dispuestos a pagar el precio. Ore para que Dios nos llene de la misma pasión de Cristo , con el poder y la persistencia del Espíritu Santo, con un sentir agobiante por la difícil situación de la Iglesia y por la necesidad terrible del mundo, que las ruedas del avivamiento se pongan en marcha.

“Entonces no nos apartaremos de ti; avívanos, e invocaremos tu nombre. Oh Señor, Dios de los ejércitos, restáuranos; haz resplandecer tu rostro sobre nosotros y seremos salvos” (Salmo 80:18-19).

¿Cómo nos Preparamos Personalmente el Camino para el Avivamiento?

“El avivamiento que viene debe comenzar con un gran avivamiento de oración. Es en el armario, con la puerta cerrada, que el sonido del avivamiento abundante se escuchará por primera vez. Un aumento en la oración secreta de los ministros y los miembros será el heraldo seguro de la bendición.” Andrew Murray

  • Prepárese en el camino de la bendición por medio de la oración intensiva – Ora con todo tu corazón, pidiéndole a Dios que agrande su vida de oración y adoración. Tómese un tiempo para Dios, y la práctica del ayuno.
    “Si mi pueblo, que lleva mi nombre, se humilla y ora…”
    (2 Crónicas 7:14a).
  • Sea serio sobre avivamiento personal – En lugar de ver la televisión, ore. No se deje atrapar en los caminos del mundo. Deja a un lado los asuntos mundanos.
    “…Y buscaren mi rostro, y se convirtieren de sus malos caminos , entonces yo oiré desde los cielos, y perdonaré sus pecados, y sanaré su tierra” (2 Crónicas 07:14b).
  • Conviertase en alguien insatisfecho con el pecado y pida a Dios que convenza su corazón – Sea sensible a SU convicción.
    “Examíname, oh Dios, y conoce mi corazón; Pruébame y conoce mis pensamientos; Fíjate si voy por mal camino, y guíame por el camino eterno.” (Salmo 139:23-24).
  • Arrepinéntase totalmente – No tolere el pecado en su propia vida. Deje que la tristeza por el pecado, según Dios, le toque profundamente.
    “Contra ti, contra ti solo he pecado, y he hecho lo malo delante de tus ojos… Sin duda, tú amas la verdad en lo íntimo; me enseñas la sabiduría en el lugar más íntimo” (Salmo 51:4-6).
  • Haga restitución siempre que sea posible – Asegúrese de que sus relaciones sean correctas.
    “Vivan en armonía los unos con los otros” (Romanos 12:16).
  • Practique vivir el Sermón del Monte – Mateo 5-7 es la descripción de funciones de una vida santa. Pídele a Dios que transforme su vida y le enseñará a vivir para agradarle. Estudie el sermón del monte regularmente.
    “Bienaventurados los pobres en espíritu, porque de ellos es el reino de los cielos. Bienaventurados los que lloran, porque ellos serán consolados” (Mateo 5:3-4).
  • Elija reducir sus intereses – Si reduce sus intereses, Dios agrandará su corazón. Podemos ser tan fácilmente distraídos de la oración, pero el avivamiento nos llama a adoptar una visión centrada en lo que realmente importa. Este es el tiempo para orar y tener hambre por Dios para buscarle de todo corazón.
    “Yo te busco con todo el corazón; no dejes que me desvíe de tus mandamientos” (Salmo 119:10).
  • Haga un nuevo compromiso para alcanzar a los perdidos – Ore y pida a Dios por por oportunidades y Él le ayudará. Empiece a orar, a cuidar y a compartir a Cristo con aquellos que no lo conocen. Siga el ejemplo de Jesús.
    “Porque el Hijo del Hombre vino a buscar ya salvar lo que estaba perdido” (Lucas 19:10).
  • Tenga fe en Dios – Comence a esperar que Dios se mueva a través de sus oraciones. Crea que Él quiere derramar su espíritu y traer avivamiento.
    “Es pues la fe es la certeza de lo que se espera, la convicción de lo que no se ve” (Hebreos 11:1).

El avivamientocomienza con nosotros. Es cuando cada uno de nosotros pone su vida recta y se apartar de los caminos torcidos. Tome en serio la necesidad de un avivamiento personal. Tome en serio la necesidad de la oración. Dios está tratando con su Iglesia.

“La gran obra de intercesión es necesaria para este volver al Señor. Es aquí donde el avivamiento que viene debe encontrar su fuerza. Comencemos como individuos a suplicar a Dios, confesando todo lo que vemos del pecado o impedimento en nosotros mismos o en otros. Si no hubiera ningún otro pecado, sin duda, la falta de oración es materia suficiente para el arrepentimiento, la confesión y para volvernos al Señor.” Andrew Murray
